Pleasanton Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals

We have spent the last 4 days at Pleasanton attending the Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals, over 3000 cars in attendance, with more than 100 Kiwis coming over as well, so we felt very much at home.
While in Pleasanton we were invited to John Della Mura's 60th birthday party, (Johns from Auckland) but thought it would be a great idea to have his party in the USA. As you may have gathered, there were plenty of Kiwis there.

We stayed at the Fairgrounds where the Nationals were held, only problems was the early starts, you see, the guys with the cars entered like to power park (park in there preferred place) so they start queueing up at 4am gates open at 6am., as the RV park is close to the entrance to the fairgrounds and most stay at the RV parks.......no sleep ins.

We both helped Duane on his California Roadsters Company stand for the 3 days, very interesting and we meet some interesting people, plus as we were in the main hall, it was a meeting point for the Kiwis.

We also went out one nite with Duane, Steve Curle, JR & Flick, Craig R, Bruce Carter, Ian Taylor, Phil and a few other Kiwis......., put it this way, we all suffered the next morning. attached are a few pics from the weekend.
