Lake Havasu - Grand Canyon - Flagstaff

We have been watching the weather as we intended to head up to Williams and see the Grand Canyon, South Rim a few days ago but a cold snap came thru with snow and below freezing temperatures.
Today we decided it was time to move and the weather was suppose to get warmer this week so after a busy morning we finally hit the road in the early afternoon for Williams, via Kingman on route 66.

We stopped about 5pm at the KOA just past Williams heading for Grand Canyon - it was freezing and we got all the warnings about disconnecting the water etc so our pipes didn't freeze again..., (we learnt this one from the last polar blast!).  Heater on and tucked in for the night.

In the morning we headed up the the South Rim of Grand Canyon.  The sun was shining and it was a beautiful clear day, although still very cold with snow on the ground.

We walked the south rim from the entrance car park to the museum at the end and were not dissappointed - it is amazing, vast, beautiful........

Our first view

Daryl didn't tell me there was nothing underneath until after he took the photo!

Look carefully - I hope the squirrel just likes the view as it was straight down!
We headed around to the Watch Tower on the east end of the south rim.

The colorado river running thru the Grand Canyon from the Watch Tower.
We headed south again to Flagstaff, which was mildly armer but still much colder than other areas as we around 7000ft high.
