Malibu - Needles - Lake Havsu

We cruised out in the late morning and headed for the border of Arizona as we wanted to get out of LA.  The drive through California was long and boring mostly and we decided to make camp at Needles on the border but still in CA for the night.

Next day we leave Needles, California and drive into Laughlin, Nevada for a look around and then into Arizona - they call this the Tri-State - we did all 3 states in about an hour.

We visited the Colorado Belle which is a Casino Hotel made to look like a paddle Steamer on the river's edge.  Had a flutter and lost our dosh (not much).

From there we headed over to Oatman, AZ to see the Donkey town - Daryl was here about 10 years ago and it hasn't changed much.  The burrows were left behind by the old gold miners and adapted to the land surviving and flourishing.  They still rule the town on Route 66 wandering where they please.

Keep your day job Daryl, the pole dancing is scary....

On to Lake Havasu which is bit like Lake Taupo.  Very nice area still growing - could invest quite nicely - sections on the island are $59,000 & new house $219,0000..... pretty good buying.

Next day we cycled down town and hired a jetski on the river so we cruised around the island where the rv park was and had a bit of fun on the river.

Lake Havasu is famous for it's London Bridge purchased and moved to America piece by piece....

We have decided to stay here for a few days -today we drove down to Parker to have a look and returned via the dam.
