Glacier National Park - West to East - Lethbridge, Canada

We are told the bears are at Many Glaciers on the East side of Glacier Park, so we head off around the base of the park to the other side in search, about a 2 hour drive.  The east side has more Indian settlements and the wind becomes really bad - Daryl's knuckles are white form gripping the steering wheel.

The road in is sign posted 'rough roads'....no kidding although we have been on worse.  We reach the entrance booth and are told the wind is so bad today we are unlikely to see any bears, we may see goats and sheep......typical.

The Glacier lakes has waves in it, it is so windy but they are stunning and the trees are bright yellow - also stunning.  So we carry on and guess what we find..... a family of bears.  At last we have found bears in the wild!  They are so cute, especially the two cubs.

Big black grisly .....Daddy Bear
Mummy Bear

Two baby bears......so cute

Bear watching....

The wind is so bad we decide to head out early and go north to try and avoid the weather.

All the way up from Idaho there have been fields of hay, huge stacks in every paddock....  the Prairies in Alberta are full of hay stacks and they even make hay in the centre strip of the road....

We stop at Lethbridge, apparently the bridge is famous....  it is a windy night and we snuggle in for the night.
