We left Keweah RV Resort (Three Rivers) and headed for the Sequoia National Park as our RV was to long for the 22ft limit on the road, so we had to go the long way around, about a 2 hour drive, all the way to Fresno. A very steep climb, approx 8000ft and a very narrow windy Rd. The National park was spilt into two areas, Sequoia & Kings Canyon, we decided on Sequoia. We were warned about bears, we looked but never saw any.
We took a walk to see the General Sherman Sequoia pine, meant to be the largest in the world, very impressive, plenty of Chipmunks & squirrels, but no bears!!!!
We Decided to stay the night in the National Park, we found a campground called Stoney Creek, again warned about bears, to lock all food away etc, again plenty of squirrels...but no bears!!!
We did some hunting and gathering for firewood for our fire-ring and had our first camp fire....a great night in the wildness...but still no bears!!!!
